It will forever and always baffle us when people say that cats are aloof creatures, that cats don't care about us or our feelings, that they only tolerate us because we feed them and clean their litter. It's true that cats aren't always jumping and down at every little negative emotion that you show, but our cats are always there for us when we need them the most.

Cats have the emotional intelligence to know when we actually need them versus when we stub our toe or something. They simply choose when to put their meowgical powers to use - so that you don't get used to them and immune to them. But you can always count on them being there for you when you truly need comfort from them, and the cat in this story proves it. This woman needed comfort after her breakup, she needed help, and this kitty needed a home, and just like that… a match made in cat heaven.
